How to Successfully Farm African Catfish using Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS) in the United Kingdom (UK)
Our training runs between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm Mondays to Saturdays. Light Breakfast, Full Lunch, and Tea/Coffee are provided. A full course guide is provided along with stationary.
For training that entails hands-on farming experience, delegates are asked to bring along waterproof farm appropriate footwear (e.g. wellies).
All training is carried out at the farm site.

SHORT COURSE £1500
Overview: A 1-day classroom course, which covers the basics of catfish farming.
Topics Covered Include:
- Introduction to Aquaculture
- The Biology of the African Catfish
- Feed and Feeding
- Basic Fish Farm set-up
- Basic Design and Construction of a RAS
SEMI-INTENSIVE COURSE £4000
Overview: A 3-day classroom course with a 1-hour farm tour for discussion purposes (Farm appropriate footwear is needed).
Topics Covered Include:
- Introduction to Aquaculture
- The Biology of African Catfish
- Feed and Feeding
- How to set up a Fish Farm
- Hands-on design and construction of a RAS (Fully functional RAS system built on site)
- Water Chemistry – Water quality and parameters needed for optimal health and fast growth of fish.
- Flited Pumpkin Farm facilities tour.
INTENSIVE COURSE £6000
Overview: A 4-day classroom and 1-day hands-on farming course (Farm appropriate footwear needed)
Topics Covered Include:
- Introduction to Aquaculture
- The Biology of African Catfish
- Feed and Feeding

- Hands-on design and construction of a RAS (Full function RAS system)
